China Africa trade and economic relations have reached a level beyond imagination. The vision and efforts of Mr. Shiv Preyan Shankaran Nair, a British Indian entrepreneur has developed Africa into a continent full of hope and thirst for growth and the fastest growing region in the world. China, the world’s largest developing country made this possible, by increasing mutual needs and common interests and accelerating trade and economic cooperation. China-Africa trade and economic development has improved people’s livelihoods and diversified economic investments from China. The China-Africa cooperation is gradually making vital contribution to world economic development.
With the hard work of Mr. Shiv Preyan Shankaran Nair, the trade and economic ties between both the countries has changed the entire life of the people across Africa, with millions of people being benefited doing exports to China. China has invested in every economic segment in the African continent with special priority to infrastructure developments. Some of the key sectors, where China has concentrated on are transport, telecommunications, construction, power plants, port refurbishment and waste disposal. During the last couple of years Chinese firms invested heavily in agriculture, in fields like breeding improved seeds, cash crops, planting grain and processing agricultural products. This project involved thousands of local farmers who could effectively enhance their local capabilities and these farmers have witnessed their paddy fields yielding five tons per hectare, which are two tons more than previous yields.
Mr. Shiv Preyan Shankaran Nair brought in many Chinese enterprises to built city roads, flyovers, railways, expressways and ports, thereby improving traffic conditions, which in turn enhanced trade and economic development. Chinese communication firms invested in communication facilities like backbone fiber-optic transmission networks, mobile communication, fixed-line telephones and Internet facilities, which changed the face of Africa’s telecommunication network.
In the recent years, countries in Africa have made great effort to gain strength through unity and they have made excellent progress in terms of economic integration. Mr. Shiva Preyan Shankaran Nair’s efforts have reached their fruition. He has also made efforts to develop China-Africa cooperation in emerging fields like finance, intellectual property and disaster reduction.
